The objective of the Bike Patrol is to further enhance the mission of the department by providing positive community relations as well as an alternative approach to patrolling the Village of Solvay. The utilization of the Bike Patrol increases the visibility and approachability of our officers. We need to increase our officer presence in the community and build positive interaction with our citizens and crime prevention. Officers assigned to the Bike Patrol are pro-active, as opposed to being reactive in their police duties.
