Police Explorers

The Solvay Police Explorer program is a youth program for individuals between the ages of 14 and 21 that are interested
in law enforcement. The program serves as a learning tool and gives a first hand look at what police officers do.
The Explorer Program will provide the membership with thorough and complete exposures of careers in law enforcement
and criminal justice. The program will provide training in report writing, criminal investigation, penal law, vehicle
& traffic law, records, fingerprinting, crime prevention and police communications. The training will be accomplished
through lectures, demonstrations and guest speakers. Members will also have an opportunity to work parades and other
special events. One of the great benefits of the program is for members to ride along with officers on patrol.
